April 2007

The third draft of The Forever Summer is finally finished and now copies are with my proofreaders - Ian, Deniz, Candy, Sarah and Frances. My writer friend, Guy, had also volunteered to give me some advice on my synopsis (still agonising over that but it's almost done!) and the opening chapters. As ever, I'm very grateful to all of them for their time.

There's still no definite date for the release of Falling From the Sky - but the last I heard, they were on track for mid\-April. I'll keep you posted!

March 2007

I am deep into a third draft of The Forever Summer. It's taking time but I think it'll really pay off. I wish I could give you a taster, but you're going to have to wait a little longer!

Falling From The Sky, the anthology of short stories from Another Sky Press that 'Taking Back Tom' will be published in, is due out in April. I'll post a precise date as soon as I know it, but they're already accepting pre-orders...so what are you waiting for?

Planning for my next novel, Fever Cabin, is going well. Check out my LiveJournal for hints about it!

February 2007

This month I've been working on the second draft of The Forever Summer. It's going well, but a third draft is called for...should keep me out of trouble during February!

Great news about the Another Sky anthology — Falling From The Sky. It's now available to pre-order from their website, and should be out in March/April. My short story, 'Taking Back Tom', will be published in the book along with stories by 37 other writers (some unknowns, some not). It looks like it's going to be an awesome read anyway. It'll cost you about a tenner as it has to be shipped from the States. You can also check out my author profile on their website, along with those of all the other authors in the anthology.

I'm continuing to plan my next novel and I am so excited about it! There's not much to tell you yet, except that it's provisionally entitled Fever Cabin, but there'll be a page for it on here very soon. If you want to find out more, check out my LiveJournal, where I've been posting about it.

January 2007

Happy New Year!

I spent December getting stuck into my revision of The Forever Summer, which included writing some alternative opening chapters. I kept writing the damn things until I came up with one I thought was suspenseful enough! Now that I think I've managed that, I'm getting on with revising the rest of the book, and am about a fifth of the way through it. The second draft shouldn't be rushed.

Meanwhile, I've settled on an idea for a new novel and have been sketching out plans for that. I won't tell you too much about it yet as it doesn't even have a title at the moment - but I promise you it will be chilling!

In 2006 I managed to complete two first drafts of novels and three short stories, with another short story accepted for publication in the Another Sky anthology Falling From The Sky, which should be out before the spring. I don't plan to slack off during 2007, either. In fact, I hope to spend more time writing than ever.

2006

2006 was a busy year for me. I wrote two novels and three short stories. I came third again in a local competition, and finally got one of my short stories accepted for publication. Read all the news from 2006 in the news archive.
