Toni and Greg would do anything to have a child. When they decide to use a sperm donor, getting someone they trust and have known for years involved seems to be the safest option. Greg's best friend, Myles, agrees to be their donor.

There has always been something special about Myles. Since their days at university together, Greg has noticed how effortlessly Myles draws people to him. A fantastic graduate career came easily to Myles, though he soon gave it up to start his own successful business as a hypnotist. Myles seems content with fast living and with his equally high-flying girlfriend Nancy.

Things change once Susie is born. Toni and Greg feel their lives are finally complete, but Myles feels unexpectedly left out in the cold. How far will he go in pursuit of the life that his best friend has?

The story unfolds to a fast-paced conclusion. Will Toni and Greg realise what Myles is doing to them before it's too late? Or has he infiltrated their minds and influenced them beyond their control? Will Nancy be able to prevent tragedy without putting herself in danger?

It's short enough to read in an evening and find out...just don't read it when you're alone in the house.
